Hemp Seed Pesto

I came across a recipe for hemp seed pesto on someone’s stories about a year ago and had given it a try. I was pleasantly surprised how well the hemp seeds work as a substitute to pine nuts. Hemp seeds are also packed full of Omega-6 fatty acids, Omega-3 fatty acids, all 9 amino acids, and protein, making hemp seeds the perfect addition to any recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup hemp seeds

  • 1/2 cup of olive oil

  • 2 cups of fresh basil

  • 1 cup parsley(or other herbs of choice)

  • 1/4 TBSP lemon juice

  • 2-3 cloves of garlic

  • salt and pepper

Instructions:

Using a food processor(or blender), blend together all ingredients. Mix and process until ingredients create a paste-like pesto sauce. Depending on preference, add more garlic, salt, or pepper for taste. Serve over warm pasta, chicken, steak, in a salad, or spread of bread. Enjoy!
