Moving + Changing

Change is constant and I’ve been proved this time after time this past year. It’s been a year since my journey through hell began (at least that’s what it’s felt like). It’s been a year of what felt like actual torture; as if someone was playing a cruel joke on me. That someone was the Universe. The Universe was testing me.

I think we all have a period (or two or three) in our lives when we feel like we just can’t catch a break no matter how hard we try. For those of you who’ve been following along my journey or reading my blog posts, you’re well aware of where this hell-ish year began. Let’s do a quick recap..

  • October 24th, 2021 - Found out I was pregnant (surprise!)

  • November 23rd, 2021 - Found out I was miscarrying

  • January 2022 - Broke off relationship with that partner

  • February - March 2022 - Temporary home, couch surfing

  • April 2022 - Moved into rental in Eastport

  • May - August 2022 - Experiencing health issues (later to find out it was mold related due to the house)

  • June 2022 - Found new love

  • July 2022 - Home studio shut down/closed

  • September 2022 - Moved out of Eastport and in with Sam

  • November 2022 - Moved into my new place in Annapolis

So if you look at this timeline of change and see anything less of stressful, you are a superhero. Anyone who experienced the amount of change that I did in the past year is braver than they believe themselves to be.

I had a year that felt like hell. I went through grief, anger, sadness, depression, anxiety, nervousness, guilt, shame, fear, and more. I felt all the feelings you can feel. I tried all the healing methods there are. Ultimately, I found the new me.

I don’t think the journey of self-discovery is supposed to be easy; in fact, it can be really hard, but it’s worth it.

Change is hard. Change is scary. Change is inevitable.

Change is beautiful. Change is inspiring. Change is necessary.

Without change there would be no excitement, no lessons learned, no wisdom attained, no experiences had, no growth to be found, and nothing new to look forward to. We need change as much as we push against it.

Sometimes, we just have to Trust the Universe and ride the waves. Through stormy seas, under sun shining skies, and all the ups and downs we must face, we find ourselves stronger, braver, smarter, and better than the version of ourselves prior to the change.

Embrace the change, you might find yourself leading a whole new life; a life you are proud of and a life you love. You just have to take the leap and trust the Universe. You've got this!
