Finding food around town.

I love finding those hidden gems that have the BEST food, or letting locals in on secrets they never knew about, and introducing others to spots they’ve never tried.

I want to know the ins and outs of all the eatery spots in Annapolis. Over the next month, I’ll be doing a weekly eating out blog post to highlight local businesses, share sweet treats, savory bites, and decadent drinks. I can’t do it alone.. This is going to be fun!!!

Details…

  • Keep an eye out each week on my weekly email or on my blog posts for the latest write-up of all things FOOD!

For now… Check out this week’s post below…

I’m starting off with some spots I’ve been going to for a while but am continued to be impressed with the flavors of the food.

Lures Bar and Grill - If you haven’t headed down general’s highway just past the fairgrounds for this little hidden gem, you might be missing out. With a wide selection of craft beers on tap, that just sets the scene for this locals bar and grill. Aside from the beer menu, the food menu is extensive as well. Salads, soups, appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, and dessert; it’s sometimes hard to choose what to order. Last time I got the mahi-mahi tacos and was surprised with how much i loved them. Packed not only with flavor but a variety of textures, these creamy, sweet, savory, and crunchy tacos were the perfect lunch for me.

Rutabaga- Maybe not so hidden, but not everyone ventures into the cute part of town that is West Annapolis. Located right on the corner of Annapolis St. and next to Bean Rush, Rutabaga has more than just juices. They’ve got smoothies, juices, acai bowls, toasts, and grab-n-go bowls. With added outdoor seating and excellent curb service and plenty of free 2-hour street parking, this has become one of my favorite stops for a light bite to eat.

El Cabrito Mexican Grill- I know there’s a lot of battle between which is the best authentic Mexican place to get tacos…. but I gotta save I love El Cabrito on Forest Drive. Firstly, it’s convenient to where i live(bonus!) and it’s just delicious. If you’re craving that authentic quick pick-up and take-out dinner, this is my favorite. With Tuesdays being their busiest day because #tacotuesday but also it’s $1 pupusas on Tuesdays!
